Christmas Fever

A friend of mine recently made me aware that the year is already lying on its back! At first you think “yeah I know it’s the end of the year” and then it hits you when you realise November is nearly over.

So where am I going with this? Well, this means that it’s nearly December which means my favourite Holiday is coming up!

I don’t know about you guys, but I love Christmas time. I know there are a lot of you who might not celebrate Christmas, and I’d love to hear from you to!

The reason why I love Christmas is just everything about it. Where I live its always warm during this time of year. We’re always together, my family and I, either at my aunt’s house or at the beach where we camp some times.

This year is extra special because my grandmother will be joining our Christmas for the first time in a long time. So what we do is, my family and my mother’s sister’s family get together (There are a few cousins, their husbands and kids together) on the 24th of December. We then eat and drink and we’re generally jolly. At about 11 we read the Bible, the story of the birth of Jesus. Then we wait until 12 and hand out presents. Usually it’s my brother Divan and Cousin Cecil who hand out the presents in their Christmas hats, but my brother won’t be with us this year as he is living a bit further away this year, so I’ll be joining my cousin.

Christmas time is really a wonderful time of the year. I am a Christian, so there is a special meaning to me, but I’m not here to preach. I love when we all get together; we all dress pretty and for the occasion and hang out with one another. My mother and aunt usually end up crying at some point, but that’s part of the tradition my family and I have created.

As I said, I know that some of you aren’t Christians and might not celebrate Christmas, but I’d love to hear from you. Maybe you do something else. If you’re another religion, please let me know what you do? I’d love to hear from all of you… Do you have a tree? What kind? What does it look like? What’s the weather like that time of the year at your house? If you celebrate this holiday how do you do it? What do you have for dinner etc.

Please leave me your comments?
