All I want for Christmas!

All I Want For Christmas Is...

This is a feature/meme created by  A Tapestry of Words. Here you choose a book each week leading up to Christmas and say why it's made it onto your wishlist – and I'd love to see what books everyone else is hoping to get! So if you want to make your own blog post about it, go to the blog and sign up!

So my pick for the week is:

The Red Queen by Phillipa Gregory:

Goodreads Blurb:

The second book in Philippa's stunning new trilogy, The Cousins War, brings to life the story of Margaret Beaufort, a shadowy and mysterious character in the first book of the series - The White Queen - but who now takes centre stage in the bitter struggle of The War of the Roses. The Red Queen tells the story of the child-bride of Edmund Tudor, who, although widowed in her early teens, uses her determination of character and wily plotting to infiltrate the house of York under the guise of loyal friend and servant, undermine the support for Richard III and ultimately ensure that her only son, Henry Tudor, triumphs as King of England. Through collaboration with the dowager Queen Elizabeth Woodville, Margaret agrees a betrothal between Henry and Elizabeth's daughter, thereby uniting the families and resolving the Cousins War once and for all by founding of the Tudor dynasty.

I love Phillipa Gregory, and I'm a great big fan of any kind of historical fiction, especially about royalty...
I read the first book in the series of the Cousins War, The White Queen, and I really loved it. The Red Queen was recommended to me, and now its on my Wishlist for Christmas! So hold your thumbs that I get it :)

Thanks for joining up! I've linked your post to this week's on my blog (http://atapestryofwords.blogspot.com/2010/12/all-i-want-for-christmas-is-9.html).

I haven't read the first in this series but that time period is always quite fascinating! Hope you find it under your tree :)
