Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Each week they post a new prompt for a top ten list, and bloggers fill it out on their blogs. Everyone is welcome to join. This is just another way for bloggers to network and get to know one another. All that's asked is that when you post you put your link and go and visit other's blogs as well. This gives book bloggers the chance to go and find other blogs to read.

This week's theme is "Top Ten Books I Wish I Read As A Kid"

Here we go (not in any particular order):

1. Alice in Wonderland - For obvious reasons, it's one of those that everyone should read.

2.  The Famous Five series by Enid Blyton - I think of her as the JK Rowling before Harry Potter.

3. Grimms Fairy tales - I love fairy tales but I think I've watched the movies more than read the books.

4. Noddy - I watched the tv show but never read the book...

5. Winnie the Pooh - Who hasnt heard of him, but have you actually read about him and not watched the movies and tv series?

6. The Nancy Drew Series - My friends read it but I never did, I wish now that I had.

7. The Hardy Boys - Another one of those series that I wanted to read but never did.

8. Maasdorp series - a Series written in my home language about girls in a boarding school, I did read some of it but never all...

9. Die Swart Kat - Another series in my home language that I never got to read.

10. The Peter Rabbit Books - I've seen programmes about it but never did read the books.

Tell me what are some of the books you wish you read when you were younger?

Peter The Rabbit was so cute. The drawings in that book were just amazing. Here's my list.

I was an avid Famous Five, Five Find-outers and Adventure series reader as a child, which makes me wonder why I never read any of the Nancy Drew books.

OMG Nancy Drew; how could I forget?! I think I only read 1 or 2, I should have picked up more.

Peter Rabbit and Winnie the Pooh were on my list too! I read a couple of Famous Five books and there was a tv series when I was younger that I saw a few episodes of too. I wish I'd read more of them.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I am so thrilled to find you. I don't think that I have ever been blog buddies with someone in South Africa. What is your home language?

I loved the Nancy Drew stories when I was a girl. I think if we reread them today we'd think they were quaint.

New follower.

Well, you've got me on Winnie-the-Pooh! Yes, I've seen most of the movies and TV shows; no, I haven't read any of the books. =(

At least I've read my share of Beatrix Potter, though! Phew!
